Jumpback Mountain

Have I gone too far with this one? It was suggested to me by another artist during my Name the Frog Contest, and I thought it was a very funny and clever idea that I might get around to doing one day sometime in the distant future........
and then today as I was perusing some images...voila! Amazing how that happens in such a serendipitous fashion. I know this is politically incorrect and it could possibly create a huge bruhaha, so I am going to consult some other folks prior to posting this on eBay as an auction. This is the standard ACEO-sized (art cards editions and originals) artwork, as I have mentioned several times before: 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". At least it won't be a huge, in-your-face kind of artwork, right?
Dee dee dee, as Carlos Mencia would say..................
Wiener of frog contest
It has been a busy day here at the ranch. I made the eBay PULSE page with one of my art cards in the painting/contemporary category!!! This all came about as a result of my joining the artists' Pulse group on eBay and utilizing their aid in making this happen.
Not everyone can view the Pulse page, but it certainly does attract a lot more visitors/hits to your auction, more bids and more watchers. We have all been working together as a team for several weeks now and so far out of 117 members in our group, over 20 people have made the Pulse pages so far. What a win!
And on the Name the Frog Contest...Zhaba is the winning name for my latest froggie. Zhaba is apparently Bulgarian for frog, according to Quannlace who submitted this winning entry. I had an extremely difficult time with choosing this name and it seemed to take forever. I had over 145 entries in the contest and there were some fabulous submissions.
I finally had to enlist the aid of my froggie in choosing this name....he wrote his choice on a piece of paper and handed it to me. Just kidding!
Many thanks to all of you that entered the contest! We enjoyed this very much.

Lamps to die for!

I got a pair of these lamps at an art auction last weekend as a gift for a friend of mine for her condo. Aren't they wonderful??? Those are real bronze bases on them and not the knock-off China lamps that we so often see around.
Won't she be surprised???
Star Warts
Would you believe that that name was submitted to me on my NAME THE FROG CONTEST??? How clever can one person be? I already had 40-50 entries and no one came even close to something as unusual as that one. However, I do need a name for the FROG and not the painting itself. So I am continuing my quest for the perfect name for my little guy.
But Edith, I have to hand it to you...that one was ingenious! I posted it in a couple of my groups on eBay and people flipped out about it and laffed and laffed. I'm going to have to give you a consolation prize for that entry!!!
Tomorrow the contest is being exported to over 350 people on my newsletter list, so I can't wait to see what other new entries I get, too. I am having so much fun with this contest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm still chuckling to myself over this Star Warts thing...hahahahahaha
NAME THE FROG CONTEST

This is my newest baby, and I don't have a name for him as yet. As you can see from the photo, he is an unfinished painting at this stage.
I posted the contest on eBay and am accepting entries via email. This next Tuesday, I will be sending out the contest instructions to people on my newsletter list. The winner will get a free 8 x 10" ceramic tile with the artwork of their choice from my website.
I will be the person to choose the name from the entries that I feel most appropriate for him. I have no deadline set for this contest. I'm getting some fabulous entries so far! Feel free to enter if you read this blog entry...
Janebug
On the last two days of this work week, I was reduced to laughing so hard that I was basically rolling in cosmetic powders at my day job. I came out looking like a rainbow. Janebug is the Queen of the one-liner quips...couple that with the dead-pan look as she shoots those baby-blue eyes at you OVER her bi-focals. Well, you get the picture.
She tells me that her husband is the funny man at home and she is his audience. If he's funnier than she is, then I need to meet this guy!
On Thursday, I became the only person that I know who could actually get lost in Tarpon Springs. This is not a very large town at all, but I managed to somehow spend my lunch break dashing up and down the streets madly looking for a place to park and eat my sandwich. Anyone not familiar with Spring Break in Florida, has no idea what the traffic is like...unless they live in a huge city, that is.
It was a fairly funny sight. I'm trying to drive and eat at the same time since I knew my lunch break was running short, going round and round and up and down, mustard dripping on my work shirt. Janebug said that pickles were flying in all directions....which sent me into peals of laughter, and the rolling in the colored powders began.
The talkfest marathon
OMG...........I spent 6 hours today with a wonderful friend of mine from London that I hadn't seen in 17 years. We had basically been corresponding via phone and emails, and even then it was sporadic. So there was a great deal of catching up to do.
I was basically in a coma by the time this first visit was over. I was there for WAY too long. Several other friends stopped by and joined the conversation during this time period, and I saw some other folks that I hadn't seen for 4-5 years. And much as I love catching up on people's lives and what's happening...this was still way more than I could comfortably assimilate in one day.
Michi will be visiting here for 2 weeks, and I know I will spend much more time with her because I love her to pieces. But no more marathons! My painting for today was blown completely...and I had planned to finish several paintings this weekend. I'm so tired right now that I can barely keep my eyes open, so I think a nap is in order and I could wake up later refreshed and ready to paint.
I've been painting, honest!!!

Here are two from last weekend that I completed. Tomorrow I should have another 3-4 completed and photoed, and I hope to get them in here............
American Idol
Tonite it elimination night...who will it be? I have so many favorites on this season's show, that it is nearly impossible for me to pick one person that I would like to see win above all others.
This competition is really good...the talent is amazing. Unlike the Rock Star INXS show from last summer, where few of the singers could actually SING...this one has several. I certainly hope that I am not going to have my heart broken on this competition like I did on the INXS show...because I HATED the singer that they chose on that one. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
I think maybe I have a couple of paintings that I can put in here tonite since I haven't posted any work in the past couple weeks!
