Even more incredible
That auction? I won it for $10, if you can believe that. Her stuff normally sells for piles more than that. What a score for me! What a kick in the shins for her. At least, though, one of her biggest fans won the auction. I guess that is some consolation.
I sit and shake my head at times because I simply do not understand how some paintings can sell for millions and millions of dollars while so many other artists can't survive on what they sell their work for...the law of supply and demand at work. So much agreement goes into the successful careers of artists...whether they are musicians, singers, actors, painters, photographers...whatever.
It really is based upon agreements. With enough marketing, you can even sell paintings made from human excrement for bunches of money. Paintings made my elephants and turtles. I guess this means that I will HAVE to continue doing art shows so as to reach more and more people. Sigh.
Two more prints

Here are Chauncey and Big Al. Also prints in wooden frames. Big Al's frame is green acrylic rather than copper paint. And again, they are both in my debcoart store on eBay.
Print Offerings

Here are prints of Yaz and Huck in wooden frames that I embellished with copper paints and permanent black ink stamps. I have them listed in my eBay store under debcoart. Enjoy!
We're Back!!!

Mystery has been solved. Blogger apparently changed their settings without notifying any of the FTP customers and the tech service department wasn't handling their emails...consequently our blogs were all down for 3 weeks or so before the change was finally discovered today.
I'm happy again. My search for another blog company had not proven to be altogther successful and we hadn't settled upon any one service as yet. So...we are back in business and I couldn't be happier about this. It means that I won't have to learn how to use another company's software, which is always good news for me.
Now I can return to my little project of posting other people's artwork, but first I am going to post a coupld of ACEOs here that I made last week.
Florida 33

This one HAD to be redone. When I look at the old Florida 33 that I had stored in my files, I could gag. The new transformation that has taken place on this 14" x 17" piece of paper is remarkable. I don't suppose that it's very good PR for an artist to say that their artwork made them want to gag, but I have to be honest about this!
What looks so wonderful and creative to me one day, might not have the same impact a few weeks later. Some do...some don't. And when they don't, it's time to change. If I find myself getting tired of looking at an image, how on earth can I expect my buying public to want it hanging on their wall? I definately have some works that I have not gotten tired of looking at, even after years of seeing them.
Culture999

This is the artwork of an artist known to me only as Achara. I've been unsuccessful in getting her last name...another of the mysterious and hermitlike eBay artists. (Like me)
She entered a contest that was held in our ACEO group last fall, and I saw this entry and was intrigued by it. The subject of this contest had to do with things that scared us. I haven't seen any work by Achara of late, although her eBay user ID is still active. We can only hope that she will return and bless us with more of her artistic visions and talent in the future.
Shooting the moon

In my usual fashion, I have become completely addicted to adding moons to my new artwork. It's a personality flaw of mine...take one thing and run it to the end of the field...all the way baby!
If you have been following my Florida series progressions, you can see that things have gone thru various phases. Iridescent green trees, green trees with black lines, black trees, copper background, stars in the sky, wild colors, abstracts, and now the moon theme. I simply don't know when to stop myself with these things!
After redoing nearly 20 of my 50 Florida paintings at least twice....hahahaha....I think I'm going to give them a breather. Now watch. I will get up from this computer, go grab an earlier Florida painting that I am sick of looking at, and next thing you know there will be a moon in the background!
Today I was out searching for a gallery to put some of my artwork into. This way, the artwork will be safe from redos---over and over again. At least until I contacted the gallery owner and convinced them to let me have the unsold artwork back so that I could redo it........
Florida 38

This is a redo of an earlier painting.
Isisishtar

This is my mystery artist. I discovered that he is a male and not a female as I had originally assumed. He has requested to remain anonymous, and I will honor that because even I don't know his real name!
He had a series of these 'chicks' last year that signified the alphabet. One that he made was my absolute favorite, though...she was a chubby naked chick that I tried valiantly to win at auction. Alas, once again I was sniped and lost the auction.
I enjoy his illustrations and artwork. There is a sensahuma there and much drawing skill. He asked me to post a link in here to his ME page on eBay, but up to this point I have not been successful in posting links in my blog. With the troubles that I have been having with my blog this past week, I am not even going to try putting a link in here. His website is Glowinthedarkpictures.com.
