Work in Progess
Here is a portion of the latest piece. This is an 11 x 15" painting/drawing. It has been developing slowly as I create different areas of lines around the surface of the painting.
This partial scan was necessary in order to show the line work up close. I now have an idea in my head where I want to go with this, so now we shall see if that idea comes to fruition or not.

Mimi

I discovered this week that I can use images from my blog posts as background wallpaper over in YouTube. So I will be posting previous artwork in here as well as new stuff.
Halloween ACEOs

Whipped out a couple ACEOs this weekend. I was in Halloween mode because the outside temp has dropped and the sun is setting much earlier. Doodles 121 and 122...continuing on with the Doodles tradition.
Artwork for Pogo

This is the artwork that I created for the winner of Pet Video Contest #5, Irpogo. If you haven't yet seen Who Killed the Catnip?, go into YouTube and do a search for that title. It's hysterical.
I based the artwork right from that video and made a cartoon of it because I think the video is so frickin funny.
The latest pet video contest just began a few hours ago on YouTube and already 9 people have entered. This promises to be a really good contest!
I am trying something new this time. Viewer voting. We have 9 videos entered, yes, but so far only 3 votes. Which actually surprises me because I assumed that everyone would automatically vote for themselves and get as many of their friends and family members to vote for them as possible.
Eventually, this will catch on. It always does. This time I won't be viewing all of the video entries and my Panel of Judges will be enjoying a vacation. I've had to switch out judges several different times already, so that was one of the reasons that I changed the format. I also think this new voting method will bring in new viewers, which is definately the desirable outcome for all this.
...
The judges did a stellar job on this most recent contest. I must say that I was very pleased with their choice of Who Killed the Catnip? by Irpogo as the winner on this one.
I was LOLing the very first time that I viewed this video and I wanted to send it to everyone that I knew immediately. I couldn't do this, of course, as it would make the contest appear biased...so I refrained.
The creativity of some of the YouTube community continues to boggle my mind. It's almost like being in Hollywood in a way, as you get to know your fellow lunatics, jockey for position in the grand scheme of things, and try to come up with something new and wonderful that will get you on the Featured list.
Yes, we have some Total Turds in this community (just like Hollywood and Planet Urth) but that is only a very small percentage. All in all, it has been a lot of fun to find my way around this humongous website and learn how to interact with people in this wildly fun forum.
Between the animal loving public, my fellow artists, comedians and musicians...I simply cannot think of a more fun place to be online. The world has opened up a brand new playground!
Heart Series

Here is another in the Heart Series and this one is a commission so it's not available. I posted a close-up shot in here to show the detailing involved in this one. It cracks me up that this buyer is so enamored with this painting because it's not my usual style at all.
I checked with this person repeatedly while making this one and always got the go-ahead and positive feedback. I'm happy that they are happy, and that is about all that I can say about this one.
The photos here aren't very good, either, but since I don't have much attachment to this painting I didn't bother to get a better shot. LOL This has really been an adventure.
The Heart Series is going to continue!
It only took me 4-5 hours yesterday to get this latest video made. Why so long? Windows Movie Maker, that's why. In spite of all the updates and downloads that I get from MS (and I do keep them up to date), this program is so full of bugs and glitches it's amazing.
Luckily, I was able to shut the computer off without losing EVERYTHING each time...well, only once did I lose the entire video. For that I am grateful. I had to reenter some of the artist info so many times that I knew it by heart. I was attempting to get my font color just right so that the info would show up on my art pages and you could actually read the names of the artists.
But no, all that work was for naught as you still can't see about 50% of those words. I was trying to find a banner that would scroll the info across the artwork without ruining the image, but never did get what I wanted. If you haven't yet used WMM, you won't know what I'm ranting about at all.
I had visions of throwing myself on the floor and going into a tantrum complete with large amounts of profanity, but I didn't want the neighbors to report me and get my butt Baker Acted. That would not be a fun experience.
Fortunately, we have a 3 day weekend and I'll have that extra day to get the artwork completed this weekend that I have on my list. The contest is now up and running and getting a fair amount of activity for a holiday weekend. Something else to be grateful for, eh?
