Two years of blogging!!!
I first began this blog in October of 2005. It was a brand new experience for me waaaay back then and I had no idea what a blog even was until I saw some artists discussing this in one of my eBay artist groups. Blogging was all the rage at that particular time, so between that and the bi-monthly newsletters, I had to keep myself busy coming up with new info for people to read.
As blogging became more and more popular, fewer people were even bothering to read them anymore. Same with the newsletters. I was keeping close tabs on the % of people that even opened my newsletters for two years and it kept dropping as time went on....even with the addition of new people every month.
This would be an introverting point if I took it personally, but I don't. I used to read other people's blogs and newsletters with avid interest two years ago, but after many months...I didn't give a shit what they said anymore. I know some of them were professionals and they used various attention-getting points and tried numerous ways of retaining their readers' attention...but I lost interest nonetheless.
I have basically unsubscribed to almost all the newsletters that I was receiving. Some folks were sending them out every other day or several times a week, and I got bored even faster. Now on YouTube, I see people that post a new pointless video every stinking day and I am unsubscribing to them, too.
People, people, people....just because you think you have something important to say does not mean that other people will think so. Has all the press helped Britney, Lindsey, Angelina??? Or has it made a lot of us sick to death of them? I'm in the latter category........
At this stage of the game, I'm even sick of myself. LOL Blah, blah, blah and yap, yap, yap. This is why you only see posts from me in here but once or twice a week, usually. Enough is enough. Who the hell is interested in what I think, anyhow? ...
Tim Somnia
TIM SOMNIA is officially the name of this character. This name was submitted by Shellrosecreations aka Rochelle Rosenkild. She is an extremely talented California artist and this name was so perfect!
I had some other submissions like PJ Hopper, Jeremy Peepers, Percival Flysnagger, Ribbit Van Winkle, and I. B. Sleepy. I had many laughs from the hundreds of submissions that came from doing the Name the Frog Contest.
Shell decided that she had to have a Big Al tile, so that will be going out in the mail to her soon. She actually had a frog in her home that looked like Big Al and was in the same position that Big Al is in. Only difference was that there was no baseball cap on her frog!
Thanks again to everyone that entered this contest. It was a joy and worth many, many laffs.
Pippy the Begging Kitty

Winner of Pet Video Contest #6
I got the votes tallied yesterday. This is the Top Five:
1. Pippy, the Begging Kitty by Jmfgegr 2. Tarzan Refuses to Leave Petco!!! by Kuulcat1 3. Otis on Beauty by Irpogo 4. C'mon C'mon Tamandua by Tamandua Girl 5. Skyzze's video entry (he has changed the name of it)
CONGRATULATIONS to Pippy and Jmfgegr
I am pleased with the way this contest worked. We had a good winner who created a very funny and entertaining video. Pippy is wonderful and now has a whole series of videos on YouTube and in a blog.
This new viewer voting format is great. I plan to continue using it in the future contests.
And a new contest will begin perhaps later today...not a pet video contest. Nope, this one is a bit different and I tried it once last year but not on YouTube. Should be interesting to see what develops with it. I have to complete the artwork first before beginning this contest...
Zelda
Eureka!!! The images are downloading again in here. Hooray.
Okay, so now I need to come up with a story for Zelda. Let me see. I hadn't given this any thought whatsoever. She just popped up a few days ago and I worked on some sketches for her and had the artwork completed and no name for her.
The original artwork is 8.5 x 5.5" done in ink and pastels on Bristol paper. I have her up for auction in eBay as of 2 hours ago and already have 2 people watching her. That's always a good sign.
Also came up with another frog image tonite out of thin air and it was so funny that I burst out laughing....LOUDLY. I had tears running down my face at the idea of him. I'll be working on some sketches for him.
But before I get him finished I have to come up with a story for Zelda and finish up the Pet Video Contest #6 which is ending in 2 hours. Tomorrow I will be tallying votes and hopefully this won't take too awfully long. First time I have done a contest this way, so I'm not sure how long it will take. I was expecting to have over 1,000 votes, however, and we only got 250 so far. So it shouldn't be a long while to get the results tallied. ...
