Something else to be thankful for...

LOLOLOLOLOL
There's much to be thankful for..............
Rather than watch that movie on tv, which is most likely boring me half to death, I could spend a few minutes of time thinking of things that are right about my life. And on those good days, this is very easy to do. On those bad days, it's something I will skip because I am too busy wallowing in the Slough of Despond.
That requires a lot of attention units, see...wallowing in the Slough of Despond. A person really has to work hard at that one. Making yourself miserable and trying desperately to make other people around you miserable, too...man, that is quite a creative activity and it uses a lot of energy! One of the things that I am MOST thankful and grateful for in my life is that I no longer do this 80-90% of the time the way that I used to.
Yep, I was the Queen at bitching and moaning and finding things that were wrong in life. It has taken me years of self-discipline to improve this gnarly characteristic and one of the ways that I have improved it is by admiring it. Sounds wacky, I know, but it works for me. When I would criticize this characteristic in myself and others.......I would desperately try to avoid being that way, which of course only made it worse.
With practice and diligence (this is something that I must work on daily), I have improved markedly. Oh yes, I still rip and tear....usually when I am not thinking about what I am thinking or saying....just letting things roll off the assembly line out of control. There is still much room for improvement, not that I want to be a Pollyana or something so sugary sweet it's nauseating. It's just cool to make people feel BETTER. I like doing that. And if I am feeling better, I can make others feel better, too.
Pet Video Contest #8 is roaring right along. And I mean roaring. No, the video hasn't been Featured or anything like that, but it is attracting a much larger crowd of people, many new people, and piles of comments/votes. I tried an experiment with this contest and it seems to have worked out very well. Not exactly the way that I had planned it to go, but it's a vast improvement over previous ones.
AND Amy Weber has agreed to collaborate with me on the artwork for the winner of this contest. Amy is a very talented artist and I love her work and style. So once this contest ends at midnight on Saturday, I'll finish tallying the votes and will email the winning video to Amy so that she can start her half of the artwork.
She will then mail it to me for completion along with a video of her creating her portion of the work, and I will make a compilation video of the two of us, the artwork and announce the winner. Hopefully, we can have all this done within about 10 days after the end of the contest, but with the mail at this time of year, it could be longer.
I will most likely begin the next contest in the meantime. All this is another thing that I am very grateful for, as it is a fun way to showcase my artwork and give some YouTubers a fun thing to do.
