Klimt revisited
I had initially completed this painting last year but I was not completely happy with the colors or something about it. So I put it aside for some months and recently went in with some beeswax mixed with some iridescent powders and got a warmer glow to the painting. I find that I LOVE doing Encaustic work to my finished pieces and moving that hot wax around on the surface.
The iridescent bronze on the surface of the painting itself peeks thru in some spots which contrasts nicely with the copper colors. You can also see some of the beeswax in this image as the light reflected on it when I shot the photo.
A lot to be grateful for....
This has been quite an interesting week for me. I had been thinking about all of the online Friends and Subscribers that I have made in the past several years, so I made a video to express my feelings to people about this.
Bling...out of the blue this video appeared from the most recent winner of one of my pet video contests. Wendi was so appreciative of the artwork that she won, that she made a video about it! This had never happened before, so it was a pleasant surprise.
I have met some very wonderful people online. It has added a whole new dimension to my life and I couldn't be happier about it. It means that I can continue to be a hermit, sit in my pajamas at home and still experience time with friends all around the world. You can't beat that!
